Expanding connectivity and resilience to enable greater functionality

A complex cabling project was undertaken by TPS, which has successfully ensured the continuous, reliable and resilient connectivity for the charity’s digital infrastructure.
The vision of this national charity is that no disabled person shall be disadvantaged due to poor access to transportation. The charitable funds are used to support beneficiaries with the cost of their transportation needs. The charity is constantly looking for and developing new solutions to meet the evolving mobility needs of disabled people.
The charity was looking to expand its regional offices to Edinburgh, Scotland. This site would be a new Headquarters with the latest technology deployed for its users and employees. A high quality, robust and diverse communications network was required.
The project was carried out in Edinburgh within the new multi-story modern workspace office building. A new data centre had been constructed within the same facility as the workspace. TPS were commissioned to install fibre and copper cabling to 15 high density cabinets. The company also installed over 48km of CAT6 and 18km of CAT6a high capacity copper cables alongside 1000m of OM4 optical fibre cabling infrastructure at the Headquarters. This delivered connectivity for every aspect of the building infrastructure including wireless, CCTV, BMS, Door Access, WiFi, security and printers, with over 1600 outlets installed throughout the new building. The installation enabled a highly functional, resilient and cohesive connectivity system throughout the new office base - elements that are key in the running of this major, traffic heavy 24/7 business.
