Kitchen
Management System

A very successful pilot project

Overview

Daisy Corporate Services Ltd was engaged by a leading hospitality brand to oversee a pilot project that involved the installation of a kitchen management system. The company approached TPS for their help with all data and electrical aspects of the work.

EPOS for pub chain

The client, a large pub retailer and brewer, was looking to trial a new electronic ordering solution to improve the general running of kitchen operations. Initially, this would be installed as a small pilot project across 6 public houses, with a further twenty-one to follow. Due to the end client’s scheduling requirements, all works would need to be conducted on an evening, outside operational hours.

Technology infrastructure for hospitality

Challenge

The schedule of works for the pilot scheme was to be completed over a 4 – 6 week period.

Due to the operational nature of each licensed trade business, it was imperative that food service could continue without interruption. For this reason all aspects of the project were undertaken outside normal trading hours, throughout the night.

Solution

To replace the out-of-date paper ticketing operation, TPS installed a new single-phase sub-distribution board (DB) with surge protective device to supply the additional circuits required for a kitchen management system.

This sub DB, was fed via the mains Distribution Board and rated at 50 Amp. All circuits were rated at 16 Amp and backed up by an A Type RCBO. Once installed the infrastructure could then support the 10 x new screens and associated equipment for the order supply system.

Due to the success of this trial there are now plans to roll this out across the entire catering estate.

Testimonial

“Just wanted to show my appreciation for all the effort from TPS and the high level of finish, in particular on the cabling. It looks great and the screens couldn’t have been better positioned. Much appreciated!”
